The Fourth Annual Torch Parade was held Feb 26, 2011. Patrollers skied down the hill bearing torches, and gathered around a fire at the bottom of the hill as bells rang to commemorate those who had gone before us. After the ceremony, we gathered around the bon fire and patrol community chili pot, and shared many memories. This event was first held to remember Dick Carrick, who's sudden and untimely passing sent a shockwave through the patrol. It was especially poignant this year in light of the death of our friend, Tim Korzen. His wife, Peggy, was the flag bearer leading the procession this year, and one of Tim's closest friends, Greg Deacon, was the Lone Patroller performing the final sweep. |
